This cartoon is an example of a hyperbole. It is exaggerating the fact that society today is becoming more and more dependent on prescription drugs, even when there seems to be nothing wrong with them or they have the slightest symptoms. This can be concluded through reading the statement below the cartoon, "There's nothing wrong with me. I just want to ask the doctor if any of these drugs I saw on TV are right for me." Additionally, it is making fun of the fact that every commercial for a prescription tells the audience to ask their doctor if the medicine is "right for them". Overall, I believe the cartoon is a comical poke at "prescription America".
